Cell Groups

Cell groups are small groups of believers who are growing together into Christlikeness by teaching, discussing, and learning God’s Word in an atmosphere of mutual love, concern, and encouragement. There is general agreement that the church in Jerusalem (Acts 1-12) was organized into what we are calling cell groups because of the great multitude who were a part of that church. In light of that idea it seems very likely that they would meet on the Lord’s day in the Temple courts for public worship and in their cell groups at other times.

What can you expect when you arrive at a cell group meeting? Our general order will be to begin with prayer to ask God’s blessings on the time we have together, then the leader will give a brief overview of the chapter from the assigned reading after which everyone will be welcome to ask questions and discuss the teaching of the chapter and how it can and should be applied to our lives.

The cell groups are designed to encourage Christian fellowship and more intimate connections with each other. They will also serve as a means of communication, discipleship, and hopefully encourage opportunities for increasing in loving concern and serving one other.
