Bread of Life Campus Outreach

Some of our young adults at JMU to study God’s Word and share the Gospel with others!

Bread of Life is a unique ministry designed specifically with college students in mind. Bread of Life is committed to proclaiming Christ as the only way of salvation. In one of the most important sermons that Jesus preached He proclaimed Himself the bread of life. “And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst” (John 6:35). Many college students are thirsty for knowledge and interested in pursuing answers to the big questions of life. Jesus is the only person who can answer those questions and He is the only one who can satisfy the longing in your soul. Bread of Life is dedicated to helping you find Jesus as the bread of life that will feed your soul.

Bread of Life places a great emphasis on the public gathering of God’s people for worship. Bread of Life does not substitute weekday meetings for the primary gathering which Jesus established on the first day of the week. In Hebrews 10:24-25 the Bible declares that we are not to forsake the assembling of ourselves together as many do. Bread of Life calls all believers to gather together on the Lord’s day for worship. After this priority, other meetings are encouraged.

Bread of Life also promotes communion with God as a necessary priority for students to fulfill their responsibility to glorify God in all of life. In 1 Corinthians 10:31 the Bible says, “Whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” Human well-being is inseparably connected to our dependence upon God by which we glorify Him with our lives.

We desire to make Christ known, emphasize the church, and direct students to believe in Jesus for their salvation and repent of their sins.
